After a very difficult year of illness and other challenges, I have returned to the internet, and I have a new project! After thinking so much about the challenge of starting something like a Montessori Unschool, I've realized that we all struggle with the challenge of letting go of our schoolish ideas that children's education is too important to entrust to children. Without that understanding, we cannot make the leap to truly self-directed education, which I believe, deep in might heart, is what would benefit the vast majority of children, and our society, the most.
So I have begun a new community to work on deschooling ourselves and our mindset. It is called, logically enough, Deschooling Ourselves.
We had our first livestream yesterday, and I am making it public here so that you can check out what we're doing.
